Thai Bodywork

What is Thai Bodywork?

Thai Bodywork sometimes confused with Thai massage is the art of realigning your body and creating space. By working regularly with a Thai Bodyworker your movement, aches and pains and general health is proven to improve and regular sessions can lead to amazing results.
Thai Bodywork is very different to Thai Massage that you might have received whilst travelling abroad. A skilled bodyworker will move through the different layers of your body testing your responses with the aim to restore the natural flow and rhythm of your body. As you can imagine to work through layers of history of movement within the body can take time and patience, so Thai Massage isn't a quick fix solution and long lasting health may take a few visits to our Stevenage Studio.

Thai Bodywork appointments last between 90 minutes and two hours, are completed through clothing without any greasy lotion, often leaving the recipient feeling lighter and more relaxed as a result.

Thai Bodywork is mainly completed on a futon on the floor with space to move around to work with your body from all angles when we looked for a base we couldn’t find a suitable premise so we decided to build our own bespoke studio in the heart of Stevenage Old Town complete with underfloor heating and lots of glass – we think its the best place to get a massage in Stevenage.

Although we normally practice on the floor, if you struggle to get up or down from the floor we do have a massage couch so you can still receive the treat of a Thai bodywork session.

How often should I receive Thai Bodywork?

Well we can all agree that a daily Thai massage would be fantastic and for some affordable, remember elite athletes often have massages after each training session. However there is no right or wrong answer with Thai Massage it is very person specific.

You need to ask yourself:

  1. What do you want to gain from Thai Massage?
    • Are you training for a specific event that requires more from your body than normal?
    • Do you have muscle tension or long-term aliments that require working through or managing?
    • The severity of your mental health? Is it an especially stressful time? Do you need time out?
    • Are you suffering from an acute condition, muscle or spasms? or have one that you just cant shift?
  1. Listen to your mental and physical health ask yourself:
    • How you felt before you started Thai Massage?
    • How you felt during your massage session?
    • How you felt after Thai Bodywork & how long that feeling lasted?
    • Did the massage give you the outcome you wanted?

Discuss the answers with your Thai Massage practitioner who will be able to work with you to support and formulate a consistent and effective plan, to your practitioner you are unique and one size doesn’t fit all.

Thai Bodywork really is a special treat and a gift to both give and receive on a regular basis. The attunement you get with your body and your spirit is beneficial to your own personal sense of well-being – resulting in calmness and a feeling of ‘I’ve got this’.

If you are thinking of giving the gift of a Thai Massage to a friend or partner we are able to offer gift vouchers for treatments – the feeling of giving the gift of a massage is amazing – plus you know we will look after the recipient as if it was you on the mat.
